Basic: insured for the essential risks

With the Basic option, you are well covered for the essential risks during your trip. For instance, you are insured for up to sixty consecutive days per trip, with expert assistance available via the A.S.R. Helpline. Additionally, you are entitled to some important reimbursements. For example, all costs for personal assistance are covered at cost price as standard, and luggage is insured up to €1,000 per person per trip. Have you included medical expenses coverage? Then all unexpected medical costs are reimbursed as standard, even if they fall under your mandatory excess on your insurance.

Comfort: generous reimbursements and more

The Comfort option from A.S.R. offers more than the Basic travel insurance. With Comfort, for instance, you are insured for up to ninety consecutive days per trip. And again, all costs for personal assistance are covered at cost price as standard. With the Comfort option, your luggage is also insured up to €3,000 per person per trip. Have you included medical expenses coverage? Then all unexpected medical costs are reimbursed as standard, even if they fall under your mandatory excess on your insurance.

Extensions for Basic & Comfort

You can further extend your Basic or Comfort travel insurance with coverages that better suit your travel habits. Do you, for instance, frequently go skiing, or do you want legal assistance or medical expense coverage abroad? You can always tailor the coverage to your preferences.

Do you want to take no risks and travel with complete peace of mind? Then the Optimal option from A.S.R. is perfect for you. With this comprehensive travel insurance, there are no unpleasant surprises. The costs of personal assistance are covered at cost price as standard, and your luggage is insured up to €5,000 per person per trip. Moreover, luggage up to two years old is insured at its replacement value, without any excess! Have you included medical expenses coverage? Then all unexpected medical costs are reimbursed as standard, even if they fall under your mandatory excess on your insurance. Planning a long trip or wintering in a warm country? You’ll be insured for up to 180 consecutive days worldwide.

Help on the road with the a.s.r.-app

A.S.R. has created the free Help on the road with the a.s.r.-app especially for holidaymakers who need quick assistance in case of damage. With the app, you can directly contact the emergency centre in case of an emergency, and it provides necessary medical information about your holiday destination. What can you do with the app? You’ll always have your insurance details, photos, and documents at hand. Additionally, you can share your location with those at home and fellow travellers, retrieve important information about your destination, access personal documents, and store notes and photos in case of damage. 24/7 Assistance from A.S.R.

Wherever you are and whatever happens, A.S.R. provides excellent service. The A.S.R. helpline is available worldwide, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In case of breakdowns, accidents, illnesses, or emergencies, their team is ready to assist. For medical cases, you’ll be referred to a hospital via the helpline, and if necessary, the SOS International emergency centre will be engaged. SOS International specialises in personal and material assistance. With A.S.R.’s help, you are always in the hands of the best specialists near your holiday destination.

For medical care, it is important to have your EHIC (European Health Insurance Card) with you. This is often indicated on the back of your insurance card. The EHIC card can be used in: Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Great Britain, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Croatia, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain, Czech Republic, Sweden, Switzerland, and Australia. In Morocco, Turkey, and Tunisia, you’ll need a 111-form from your health insurer.

What to do in case of damage, loss, or theft?

If something happens to your luggage or it doesn’t arrive at the airport, it’s important to have a PIR (Property Irregularity Report) prepared by the airline at the airport. Additionally, it’s crucial to take photos of the damaged items and keep these items as they may need to be presented to A.S.R. as proof.

If your luggage is stolen during your trip, make sure to file a report with the local police and always keep a written copy of it.

Filing a claim

In case of damage, you can file a claim via A.S.R.’s online claims form. The claims form should be completed as thoroughly as possible, including the evidence, PIR report, and warranty certificates.
