Le Coteau de l’Herm is a small-scale naturist campsite – a real rarity in a region where large campsites are the norm. Thanks to its intimate size, guests enjoy a warm, personal atmosphere and a true sense of feeling at home. The campsite is set on 8 hectares of private natural land, fully accessible to guests. You’ll find woodland, open clearings and walking paths, with exceptionally dark night skies where the only sound is the hooting of owls.
Le Coteau de l′Herm has been nominated several times by the ANWB in the “Campsite of the Year” awards, in the category “Best small campsite 2025”.
Here, natural peace and quiet goes hand in hand with comfortable facilities. The unique Zodiac swimming pool has a wide, water-filled edge that invites you to relax, lounge and soak up the sun. If you prefer swimming in natural waters, the Vézère river is only a 15-minute drive away. It’s also a popular spot for guests travelling with dogs. Although dogs are generally not allowed in the accommodations, an exception can sometimes be arranged by prior agreement – especially in the Petit Homes, which stay pleasantly cool even during hot summers. If you’re looking for extra relaxation, there are several wellness options available, including a wood-fired Finnish Kota sauna and professional relaxation and sports massages. There’s plenty to enjoy on the culinary side too: from warm bread rolls delivered fresh from the bakery in the morning, to homemade wood-fired pizzas, local market produce and refreshing sangria with fresh fruit.
During the summer, the campsite regularly hosts small activities for anyone who enjoys a bit of social time. These range from shared meals to game nights or a relaxed game of boules. The surrounding area also offers plenty of local events, such as the lively marchés gourmandes in Rouffignac with regional specialities, music and dancing, as well as the Sunday morning market, which is popular with both locals and visitors.
Despite its peaceful setting, the campsite is close to the lively village of Rouffignac, just three kilometres away. Here you’ll find a supermarket, restaurants, bars and plenty of activities, especially during the summer months. The area offers excellent opportunities for walking and cycling, starting directly from the campsite. Le Coteau de l’Herm is also right in the heart of the Périgord Noir – a region known for its castles, prehistoric sites and charming villages, all within a 20-minute drive.
