Dordogne

Domaine du Coq Rouge is situated in the picturesque Dordogne Valley, where the departments Corrèze, Lot, and Dordogne meet, near the enchanting medieval village of Collonges-la-Rouge. Take time to explore this authentic village and enjoy the unique architecture of this "red city."

About 50 km away, perched on a cliff edge, lies the charming village of Rocamadour. Enter this religious city via the impressive Grand Staircase and take a stroll through the Monkey Forest, where macaques roam freely. Explore the local markets, visit the Padirac Chasm, or enjoy a hike, bike ride, or canoe trip in this beautiful green area.

In addition to its stunning natural beauty, the Dordogne is also renowned for its delicious authentic cuisine. Taste the exquisite truffles, duck (Magret de Canard), and of course, the famous Cahors wines, all of which can be found on the menus of numerous restaurants in the region.

The varied landscape features mountains, rivers, and green hills, interspersed with forests and vast woodlands. Discover the charm of old towns and picturesque villages, admire the many castles and churches that the region has to offer. Each village boasts a church worth visiting. While the castles along the Dordogne may not be as elegant as those along the Loire, they are just as fascinating, with their strategic locations and lush green surroundings.
