Samonatura

Samonatura takes its name from the hillside it is built against: Samouqueirinha. The sauna, jacuzzi and sweeping views over the Atlantic Ocean make this a wonderfully relaxing holiday spot. Its intimate scale, the warm and welcoming hosts and the striking landscape create an atmosphere that helps you unwind from the moment you arrive.

You’ll be staying in the Alentejo, a region known for its rugged shoreline, mild climate and open landscapes filled with cork oaks and fragrant herbs. The resort sits on nine hectares of land, five of which are pine forest, with the rest left as untouched nature dotted with a small lake and beautiful rock formations. Each of Samonatura’s five houses has a spacious terrace offering lovely views of the coastline.

During the day you can cool off in the saltwater pool or enjoy the complimentary sauna and jacuzzi, a favourite haven for many guests. A Ayurvedic massage can be booked in advance with ease. In the evening, sit back on your own terrace and watch the lights along the coast shimmer beneath a sky full of stars.

The cottages are scattered across the gently rolling grounds and offer plenty of privacy. Expect sun-soaked terraces, inviting seating areas and that delightful sense of having your own hideaway in the middle of nature. All accommodations are fully and tastefully furnished.

Within just twenty minutes’ drive you’ll reach an official naturist beach and several unspoilt coves. Walkers can follow the famous Rota Vicentina, while mountain bikers will find countless trails winding through hills and forests. Vila Nova de Milfontes (10 km) and villages such as Porto Covo (25 km) and Odemira (22 km) are close by for a meal, a drink or a traditional dish of bacalhau.
