A little further afield lies the city of Almería (100 km), with highlights such as the Alcazaba of Almería, the Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park (90 km) and the Tabernas Desert (94 km). Here you can step straight into the Wild West, with several film sets scattered throughout the area. Travelling with children? Then a visit to AquaVera water park or the karting track in Garrucha is well worth it.
